My Compositional Process
The style of my composed piece is a 80s rock ballad.
Rhythm, bass line, chord
progression, lyrics: I started with experimenting about with the drum set. Then
I eventually chose four chords that I thought went well together (the chords
were Em, Dm, Am, G). I used the same chords for most of the instruments. One of
the guitars (the other had on chord different, the chord was an F) the other guitar
had a C chord.
mins 12 secs). I think my piece has improved quite a bit because it isn't as repetitive and it isn't too long or too short.

At the beginning of the lyric creating I found it quite hard to think of words that went with my music piece, and I still am finding it quite hard. I am currently working on lyrics that Ithink goes well with the piece. So far I don't think it is going
very well but I'm working on them. I am planning on going
home and getting some help from family and friends.
Session 1
I was getting my head around how the updated version of garageband works. The update has a setting that you can use to help you with the chords you would like to use. It has a tool that you can use to repeat that specific section.
Session 2
I experimented with some notes and chords. I had a go to see if the piece would sound better with a different tempo. I found that it sounds better with a slightly quickened speed.
Session 3
This week I analysed my composition piece and edited it so that the single notes in the chords worked together, making the piece sound better. I also started to make a new piece.
The beat works well with the melody and chords that I put together. I quickened the tempo of the guitar to see how that sounded and I think that it doesn't work with the tempo of the beat.
Session 4
This session I experimented with loops and I used other people's loops to help me with a few ideas. The outcome of that was very good, it's pleasing to listen to.
Session 5
The beat works well with the melody and chords that I put together. I quickened the tempo of the guitar to see how that sounded and I think that it doesn't work with the tempo of the beat.
